WhatsApp is among the most popular messaging service in the world.

"The feature is now only on the iOS app, and adds a new feature to the Privacy menu in users" settings.

Face ID or Touch ID have a new objective: keeping others out of WhatsApp.

A new update has rolled out for WhatsApp on iOS, allowing the app to be locked behind biometric authentication.

Tom (Brady ) put it up there for me to go grab it, and he put it where it needed to be and I just had to go make it. "[Coach] Bill [Belichick] told me he's partying tonight, so you know it's going to be good".

WhatsApp is finally bring an in-built app lock to access chat.

iPhone users can still preview the messages from WhatsApp notifications and even quick reply but full functionalities will be available after the authentication. When enabled, the app will require the user to rely on Touch ID or Face ID every time they access the app. There is no word as to when Android users will get the same. So you'll need actual access to the device to open the chats.

WhatsApp for iOS added over the weekend the ability to lock and hide your chats instantly with your face or fingerprint.

Also of note, the Android version of the app doesn't support biometric authentication at this time. The problem was first spotted on the version 2.19.27 of the WhatsApp Android app by WABetaInfo. If you have them turned on then you'll be able to both see and reply to any messages without having to unlock the app.
