Wells Fargo Hit By Nationwide Outage, ATMs and Online Banking Down

The bank's homepage was down with "technical difficulties" but said accounts were accessible through ATMs, stores and customer service representatives.

The system outage is the second time this month that people have been unable to effectively use their services.

The company now says the issue is due to a power shutdown at one of its facilities after smoke was detected.

Customers of Wells Fargo are having problems accessing their accounts and the company is admitting it's having issues with its online banking and mobile app.

Some customers also reported the issue was impacting credit cards. "We apologize for the inconvenience", it said. "If you are impacted, please check back here for updates", Wells Fargo stated.

Wells Fargo customers from all over the US have been reporting that multiple services offered by the multinational financial services company's banking branch, with credit cards, ATMs, money transfers, and the online banking system all being down for most clients.

The issues are the direct outcome "of a fire at a server farm located in Shoreview, Minnesota". The bank apologized on Friday for a similar outage.

There were thousands of reports of the issue on the website Down Detector and users were reporting that the issues they were experiencing were with online banking, the website and mobile banking.
