According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a deal to send Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, C.J. Miles and a 2024 second-round pick.

Gasol, a three-time All-Star and former defensive player of the year, doesn't generate headlines like some other big men in the National Basketball Association, but the 34-year-old is having another strong season averaging 15.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.

Memphis will keep guard Mike Conley following Thursday's trade deadline. Both teams have yet to confirm the deal.

The Memphis Grizzlies have signaled the end of an era, agreeing to trade franchise cornerstone Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors ahead of Thursday's National Basketball Association trade deadline.

Wright, who was selected 20th overall by the Raptors in the 2015 draft, is averaging 6.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this year.

Monroe, who was picked up as a free agent in the 2018 offseason, appeared in 38 games this season, averaging 4.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in 11.1 minutes of action.

It will be interesting to see just how much of an upgrade this deal is for the Raptors, but it was certainly worth a roll of the dice considering how little they had to give up for the veteran big man.

The other goal in these moves is to play well enough over the season's final 26 games to convey this year's first round pick, a top 8 protected pick, to Boston and get a clean slate.

Valanciunas, 26, was drafted by the Raptors in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2011 National Basketball Association entry draft and is in his seventh season with the team. Whether he'll opt into that player option is anyone's guess, and it probably won't become clear until the after the playoffs.
