While the original role was played by the late Robin Williams and can never be duplicated, Smith's appearance in this most recent trailer proves he's most certainly bringing the snark. The teaser unveiled the first footage of Will's Smith's Genie - and fans don't really know how to feel about it.

So, all's well in the world now that we've seen Smith's Genie in blue, right?

This live-action version of the Disney classic is set to hit theatres in May 2019.

Another round of winter weather headed to Iowa
Residents in Portland and Seattle who are more accustomed to rain than snow waited in long lines to buy shovels and de-icer. The Pacific Northwest snowstorm also left almost 50,000 people in eastern Washington without electricity.

The new Special Look came during the 61st Annual Grammy Awards on CBS initially and features Smith's slightly doughy-looking genie, confirming that he is entirely CGI. Mena Massoud as Aladdin can be seen walking up to the Cave of Wonders, whereas a shot of Jasmine can be seen as she walks down the palace's steps.

"Genie? Wishes? Lamp? None of that ringing a bell?" the character asks before the screen goes to black showing the film's scheduled release date, May 24. And I say this as someone who's been an ardent defender of Ritchie's last couple of fun-filled blockbusters. It got to the point where Smith felt compelled to post on his Instagram that "and yes, I'm gonna be BLUE!".

"Whenever you're doing things that are iconic, it's always terrifying", Smith said. I'm now actually hoping that Will Smurf (as Trevor has affectionately dubbed him) stays in his human form instead for most of the movie.
