In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Wilson-Raybould said she is in the process of obtaining advice on the topics she is legally allowed to discuss.

The firm is facing fraud and corruption charges related to contracts in Libya.

The pressure to go easy on SNC-Lavalin may have resulted in the termination of Jody Wilson Raybould as Attorney General and Minister of Justice, the first Indigenous woman to ever hold the post.

Angus and Cullen wrote to the ethics commissioner on Friday to request an investigation in the wake of a Globe and Mail report on Thursday containing allegations from unnamed sources that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office pushed Wilson-Raybould to negotiate a deal with SNC-Lavalin that would have led to a fine instead of a criminal trial.

Wilson-Raybould hasn't spoken about those allegations, which could amount to obstruction of justice charges for someone in the PMO.

Monday, he said in Vancouver that he'd told Wilson-Raybould that any decision on the subject was hers alone.

If Edi is not there in Manchester, of course it is big. [I've] got a lot of respect for PSG , [I've got a] lot of friends too. He has undergone exams and there will be more tests here at the training centre.

"The allegations reported in the story are false".

"This is an issue that has been much talked about over the past few days and I think it's extremely important that Canadians can continue to have confidence in our system". "Nobody has attempted to influence me", he wrote.

Lametti was tightlipped with reporters at an event in Ottawa on Monday, but, speaking to CTV's Question Period on Sunday, he left the door open to granting SNC-Lavalin the deal that the Globe reports Wilson-Raybould refused to pressure the PPS to offer.

"We urge Mr. Trudeau's team to stop trying to discredit Ms. Wilson-Raybould and to commit to fully cooperate with the Ethic Commissioner's investigation". The attorney general must consent to the negotiation of the agreement.

This renewed calls for the House of Commons Justice Committee to conduct a study on the matter. "At no time did I or my office direct the current or previous attorney-general to make any particular decision in this matter", he said.
