The Georgia Bulldogs have landed 2019 five-star guard Anthony Edwards on the recruiting trail. He essentially chose the Bulldogs over the Kentucky Wildcats as he canceled his other official visits to Florida State, Kansas, and North Carolina.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, Georgia's 2019 recruiting class ranks No. 12 in the nation with Anthony Edwards now in the mix. He says one factor was Georgia's Tom Crean coached his two favorite players, Dwyane Wade at Marquette and Victor Oladipo at Indiana.

Edwards announced his choice of the in-state Bulldogs over Kentucky and Florida State at a ceremony at his high school, Holy Spirit Preparatory School in Atlanta.

Edwards told Biancardi he planned to recruit uncommitted classmates Precious Achiuwa and Lester Quinones to Georgia.

Kentucky now has the ninth-ranked 2019 recruiting class in the 247Sports rankings.

Scot Russell Knox closed at nine under after a fourth-round level-par 72, one shot clear of Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell. All four players return to Pebble along with numerous game's best, including Jordan Spieth, Tony Finau and Jason Day.

The Georgia commitment is a big win for head coach Tom Crean, who is looking to keep in-state players at home instead of rival schools. The Bulldogs are 10-13 overall and 1-9 in the Southeastern Conference in Crean's first season as coach.

Edwards lives approximately 90 minutes away from Georgia's campus and he admitted the opportunity of remaining close to his family while at college was very important to him.

"I went to a game and I felt the fans in the gym, everybody showing love, and I felt like I was home", Edwards continued.

For the Atlanta Xpress on the Under Armour circuit, Edwards averaged 21 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 45 percent from beyond the arc.
