Justin Bieber is reportedly battling depression, but a source close to the Ontario-born singer insists he is receiving professional help.

According to People magazine, the 24-year-old singer is "struggling" with mental health issues and getting counselling.

An insider told the outlet that Justin is having sessions that contain both spiritual and secular religious components, and the treatment is "painful" for the Sorry hitmaker. "It's just something else that he struggles with mentally", continued the insider.

The As Long As You Love Me hitmaker has been feeling down and exhausted as of late and is reportedly seeking some help to discover the root issues that have been affecting him. "He seems confident he will feel better soon".

A separate source told People that Bieber struggled with being in the public eye. "He had access to anything and everything and was surrounded by people who just said 'Yes.' He's emotional and struggles a lot with the idea of fame - being followed, having his every move stalked by fans, cameras in his face". We've been working through stuff.

The couple tied the knot in a NY courthouse in September after dating for 12 weeks - and more than a decade after first meeting.

The superstar said he believes Hailey was a karmic reward for his more pure lifestyle. It's been hard for me even to trust Hailey. "There are perks. You get rewarded for good behaviour", Bieber added.

The report however made it clear that the depression has nothing to do with his wife.

Bieber recalled. "I was like, 'Holy cow, this is what I've been looking for'".

He shared: "I started really feeling myself too much". I got very arrogant and cocky. "I was lonely. I needed some time". In the meantime, he's "seeking all the help he can get" from his support network, which includes wife Hailey and his pastor.
