Prepare to make, play and discover in a whole new way when Nintendo Labo: VR Kit for Nintendo Switch launches on 12 April.

Nintendo is adding new virtual reality kits to its lineup of cardboard Labo accessories for the Switch, doubling down on the surprising initiative first announced past year. Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit is a unique first VR experience kids and families can build themselves!

There are a lot of attachments coming together with the kit, like the Blaster, Camera, Bird, Elephant and Wind Pedal.

Nintendo Labo: VR Kit offers six new Toy-Con creations to build, including the Toy-Con VR Goggles, which combine with the other creations, encouraging players to use natural movements and gestures to interact with the gaming world and elevating the Nintendo Labo gameplay experience. Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser said this is meant to encourage interactions among players, virtual or not. As with the rest of Nintendo Labo, this is very much a DIY VR project, similar in someways to the original Google Cardboard VR headsets, but with a much, much more playful slant, including Toy-Cons for a VR camera, bird, elephant and more.

Switch owners can turn their console into a VR system using a cardboard kit. Tonight the company announced the Nintendo Labo: VR Kit, an $80 (UK price TBA) Labo kit that lets users build a VR headset out of cardboard. One includes all Toy-Con creations and the other is a smaller, introductory kit. Never buy a third-party Labo Kit unless you already have at least one official Kit.

Michael Owen reveals his prediction for Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur
For every Southampton fan, they want to see us higher in the table and at the moment we are struggling still to avoid relegation. "We knew that we need to take a point minimum today, that we take three is awesome ". "It's about arrogance in a bad way".

KitGuru Says: The Switch is fairly limited in handheld mode, so I doubt we'll see Nintendo do anything else with VR beyond Labo mini games. Expansion sets will be available exclusively online through Nintendo.

Nintendo's VR announcement comes amid concerns over how it manages to boost the appeal of the Switch against a backdrop of declining sales.

Nintendo then released the Vehicle Kit that allowed gamers to construct a Wheel to control trucks and cars - complete with working foot pedal - and an apparatus to control an airplane.
