'Full House' star Lori Loughlin, others indicted in college admissions bribery case

U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said at a press conference Tuesday that in other instances students faces were edited into photos of athletes.

Macy alluded to some drama involving his daughter's college application process shortly before his wife, actress Felicity Huffman, and dozens of others were charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday in a college admissions bribery scheme. A law enforcement source confirms to CNN that the actress has been arrested in Los Angeles.

"I was essentially buying or bribing the coaches for a spot", Singer said as he pleaded guilty to charges including racketeering, money laundering, and obstruction of justice. The parents of that student had allegedly paid Singer $1.2 million.

The FBI reportedly recorded phone calls in which Loughlin discussed the scheme with a cooperating witness and Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman.

Court documents said Huffman paid $15,000 that she disguised as a charitable donation so that her daughter could take part in the college entrance-exam cheating scam.

The person told investigators the couple agreed to the plan.

Loughlin, star of "Full House" and "Fuller House", also is facing the same felony charge - conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

Prosecutors said the Giannullis then paid $50,000 to a USC athletics administrator, Donna Heinel, who presented their daughter "to the USC subcommittee for athletic admissions as a purported crew recruit". Huffman allegedly paid $15,000 for her oldest daughter and began the process for her second child but ultimately abandoned the plan because she was anxious a fixed score would "set off alarm bells".

"We have not seen the schools as co-conspirators", Lelling said.

Lori Loughlin said she's in "complete denial" about daughter Isabella Giannulli going away to college in a 2017 interview that surfaced Tuesday amid college scam bribe allegations against the actress.

The pair allegedly arranged a similar scheme for their younger daughter.

Prosecutors said the scheme began in 2011 and also helped children get into the University of Texas, Georgetown University, Wake Forest University and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Prosecutors said parents were also instructed to claim their children had learning disabilities so that they could take the ACT or SAT by themselves, with extended time.
