White House national security adviser John Bolton said on Monday Pakistan's foreign minister has assured him Islamabad is committed to de-escalating tensions with India and dealing "firmly" with terrorists.

The tweet came while India's Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale began his Washington visit for talks with United States officials.

"Met with Indian FS Gokhale to advance progress on the US-India strategic partnership & our shared vision for the Indo-Pacific, as well as reiterate that the US stands shoulder-to-shoulder with India in the fight against terrorism", Bolton said in a tweet.

A Pakistan-based militant group known as Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibly for the violence in Pulwama district.

Lady GaGa Is Expecting… Her Next Album, Fans Go CRAZY On Twitter
The 32-year-old Oscar victor was expecting her first child, according to a tabloid report in the US. Still, as far as new music (in a purely pop sense) is concerned, Gaga's kept pretty hush.

Foreign Minister Qureshi said Indian aggression of February 26 was a violation of Pakistan's territorial integrity and sovereignty as well as the UN Charter.

China put a technical hold on the move by the U.S., the UK and France, seeking "more time to examine" the proposal, a diplomat at the United Nations has told PTI.

He referred to the February 27 air battle that erupted between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of a 14 February suicide attack on an Indian paramilitary convoy which left at least 40 soldiers dead and prompted an Indian air raid on alleged terrorist targets in the Pakistan-controlled region of Kashmir. "There is enough evidence where one could speculate with confidence that the Balakot strike by the Indian Air Force was successful and Pakistan has not been able to prove otherwise since it has not enabled the global media or national media to visit the site", he told ANI.

He said that they discussed "the importance of bringing those responsible for the attack to justice and the urgency of Pakistan taking meaningful action against terrorist groups operating on its soil".
