JP Morgan Chase & Co. analyst Seth Seifman said the situation could hurt Boeing's cash flow in three ways: compensation of airlines for grounded planes; delays of deliveries of the jet; and any modifications for the aircraft. He said additional training would also have to take place.

Meanwhile, Boeing recommended a temporary suspension of the "entire global fleet" of the 737 MAX aircraft on Wednesday.

"I can't find you!"

"This is going to be one of those restarts for the company", she added.

The contents of the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder that will be examined in France will provide critical details about what caused the plane crash, according to experts.

Askhara said his airline had chose to reduce the order from 49 "before the crashes".

Many industry watchers had expected the airline to hand the black box over to the plane manufacturer, Boeing.

Just as significantly, trade sources say that for the first time in a number of years, Boeing did not win any new mainland orders of a type that are often booked without either party disclosing the name of the buyer due to complex approvals.

The French air accident investigation authority known by its French acronym BEA is now handling the analysis of the so-called black box flight recorders fro

Following Wednesday's decision by US aviation regulators to ground the planes, Boeing shares appeared to be stabilizing, said Tim Ghriskey, chief investment strategist at Inverness Counsel in NY.

Although investigators are still looking into the cause of the Ethiopian Airlines crash and sifting through data retrieved from the plane's black boxes, eyewitness accounts indicate that the aircraft did attempt to gain altitude before crashing.

Boeing's stock has fallen about 11% since the crash, wiping almost $26bn off its market value. It fell 1 percent on Thursday.

Airlines say they are working to rebook customers on other planes.

The Boeing 737 Max 8 that crashed in Ethiopia on Sunday killing 157 people requested permission to return to Addis Ababa airport three minutes after takeoff as it accelerated to abnormal speed, the New York Times reported. In the 737 Max, MCAS does this automatically, moving the aircraft back to a "normal" flight position. And airline Garuda Indonesia said there was a possibility it would cancel its 20-strong order of 737 MAXs.

"There is no capacity here so the black box will be sent elsewhere for analysis". The US president said safety was of paramount concern. Dozens of countries, including the United States, have made a similar move. Investigators are focusing on whether the plane's automatic anti-stall system malfunctioned, forcing the plane's nose down when there was no danger of a stall.

Airport officials also have received no reports of flights from Syracuse being canceled or delayed because of connecting flights in other cities being canceled as a result of the planes' grounding, she said.
