Mike Thalassitis: Former Love Island star dies aged 26

Mike had starred in the 2017 series of the dating show, and had worked as a semi-professional footballer for reams including St Albans, Chelmsford and Welling United. My heart and soul and love goes out to his friends & family.

Thalassitis' fans and co-stars took to social media to offer their condolences. All my love goes out to your friends and family.

Thalassitis, commonly known as "Muggy Mike", hosted a night at Fever and Boutique in Exeter past year.

Tributes have been flooding in from Mike's celebrity friends following the news of his death.

Stevenage FC, where Thalassitis played for three years between 2011-14, also tweeted a tribute: "Everybody at Stevenage FC is shocked & saddened to hear the tragic news about former player Michael Thalassitis". Our thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends at this time.

The Only Way Is Essex star Ferne McCann posted: "So so so so sad". Mike you are going to be sorely sorely missed.

"I'm lost for words", Rachel Fenton said. My honest condolences to his family.

"My heart goes out to his family and friends at this hard time. I'm in complete shock", Olvia Buckland, another co-star, tweeted.
