There's been great mystery surrounding Wendy Williams over the previous year, as after a months-long hiatus from her own talk show, she returned to the Wendy Williams Show without much to say about her absence.

"I don't know how, except god was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped", Williams said of pervious addiction struggles. Williams then added only her husband and son knew what was going on and she hadn't even told her parents. During the emotional reveal, she said that she's living somewhere in the tri-state area, travelling back and forth between work and the sober house.

Fighting tears, the host of The Wendy Williams Show described her journey in recovery since leaving the show back in January, and urged others who are struggling with addiction to seek help as well. "So this is my autobiographical story, and I'm living it, and I'm telling you this".

The talk show host didn't specify what she was seeking treatment for but said she attends several meetings each day after her show is finished taping. "They hog the TV and watch soccer, we talk and read and talk and read and then I get bored with them". It also offers educational resources to those suffering drug addiction or substance abuse, as well their families, loved ones and the public. "You know I've had a struggle with cocaine in the past", she said. Wendy Williams knew that the Daily Mail story was breaking and she wanted to be honest with the viewers. She said she abides by the facility's 10 pm lights-out policy, sleeps and resumes the same routine the following day beginning with the taping of her show.

I did that to power through and try to deliver a great show for you, against the better judgement of the many people around me who genuinely care for my well-being.

On March 4, Williams returned from what she told her audience was a two-month break to deal with health problems, which started with a shoulder injury and continued with complications of Graves' disease, an autoimmune condition characterized by hypothyroidism.

"I never went to a place to get the treatment". You see recovering drug addicts standing outside having a smoke, it looks like four or five people are staying there at any one time.
