The 17-year-old, who was swiftly labelled "Egg Boy", egged Mr Anning a day after the politician blamed the New Zealand terror attack that left 50 dead on Muslim immigration.

That politician, Sen. Fraser Anning, had said Friday in regard to the dozens of Muslims killed at two Christchurch mosques that they "may have been the victims today; usually they are the perpetrators".

Egg Boy confirmed he will donate the money from a crowdfunding campaign to the victims of the Christchurch attacks. A GoFundMe page was subsequently set up for Mr Connolly to raise funds for teenager's legal fees and "to buy more eggs".

This was the path chosen by the now infamous Egg Boy, who did numerous first steps involved in introducing an omelette to the head of Fraser Anning.

The boy was later taken away by police and released without charge. Connolly has been offered concert tickets for life and free vacations, and he has been portrayed in street art and on T-shirts.

But if this becomes a reality, he promised that Eskom and government would communicate this in an open and transparent manner. Eskom is still dealing with contractual issues for Medupi and Kusile power stations.

More than a million people have signed a petition calling for Anning's resignation.

Connolly spoke out on social media afterward, saying the moment made him feel "proud to exist as a human being".

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the Senator should face the full extent of the law and also criticised Senator Anning for the press release he sent out. Let me inform all you guys, Muslims are not terrorists and terrorism has no religion.

The boy said after the incident, "You'll get tackled by 30 bogans at the same time". "I learnt the hard way".
