All eyes on Tiger Woods as leaders prepare for Masters third round

"I've dreamed of playing in the final group with him in a major championship", he said.

The four-time major victor probably will struggle just to extend his run of top-10 Masters finishes.

But the wind picked up and the shot became more hard when he returned.

If the 5-footers don't kill Tiger Woods' Masters' hopes, look out for the rent-a-cops.

"It was kind of the ideal storm for a good round".

Scott's position couldn't be much better, tied with four other players at 7-under 137 after a second-round 68.

A month later, Woods, 4 strokes back entering the final round at Bellerive, put on a Sunday charge, a final-round 64 before finishing second behind Brooks Koepka.

The par-five 13th regained its status as the easiest hole with three eagles, 39 birdies and five bogeys meaning it played easier than the fifth with an average of 4.385. His only mistake came on the 16th hole, where his bogey dropped him out of sole possession of the lead. He laid up to 70 yards, then pitched close for his fourth birdie of the day.

"And I just said hey, if you stay fully committed the rest of the day, you're swinging great, you're putting well, you're going to make birdies - and that's what I did".

Duke freshman F Barrett declares for draft
Barrett recorded Duke's first triple-double since 2006 with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a 94-78 home win over N.C. Barrett was the only major conference player to score 13 or more points in every game he played.

Scott's performance wasn't entirely unexpected.

The distance he gave up via a severely low-calorie diet in the weeks leading up to the Players Championship has not played a factor on the course, though it was a topic of discussion to start the week and led to the aforementioned clash with Chamblee, who scolded Koepka's "self-sabotage".

That was enough to boost his world ranking to 29th, though Scott hasn't won since he did it twice in 2016.

"It's been a while since I've been in contention here", Woods said.

"I feel good and I like my chances tomorrow".

These types of misunderstandings are bound to happen when a player accumulates a Hall-of-Fame resume in such a short period of time.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The sliding, perhaps overzealous, security guard meant well, but for a few fleeting, scary moments on Friday afternoon, the scene appeared ominous for Tiger Woods, who was clipped in the right knee and was left hobbling to the 14th green at Augusta National.

"I was a little bit stiff when I came back out and started swinging again, but I was able to ratchet up the speed for 13 to just sort of go after it, " he said. Sunday play commences now at 12.30pm Irish time. "We understand how to play this golf course, and it is advantageous".

"It's really going to be a survival of the fittest out there", he said.
