On Tuesday, Facebook added a tribute section for memorialized accounts for friends and family to share endearing stories about their lost loved one in one place.

People took to Twitter to report the outages, with #WhatsAppDown, #InstagramDown and #FacebookDown trending in Pakistan and across the globe.

The three social network giants, which are owned by Facebook, have been down since about 11am, according to monitoring website Down Detector.

A map on the site showed the UK, US and large areas of Europe are affected by the connection issues.
