For these past charges, Aranda was banned from the mall through July 2016.

Friends of the family began a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign for Landen, who is described as "the sweetest, kindest 5-year-old you will ever meet".

In one incident, he threw ice water and tea at a woman who refused to buy him food at a mall restaurant.

Witnesses told officers that the child may have been thrown or pushed and that a male suspect had taken off running.

Court records show Aranda was arrested on July 4, 2015, after police said he matched the description of a man throwing things off the upper level of the Mall of America to the lower level. Because the family has asked for privacy, authorities are not yet releasing the name of the boy.

Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, 24, of Minneapolis, was arrested at the mall's transit station after the attack and is jailed on a suspicion of attempted homicide charge. His mother, Johnson told ABC 5, pleaded with the onlookers: "Everyone please pray".

The 5-year-old boy "enjoys soccer, playing with friends and family and playing hockey with his brother and sister", according to the GoFundMe page.

"She was screaming 'Everyone pray, everyone pray".

Mall of America officials said any more information about the incident will come from police. 'The child has been transported to the hospital and has been receiving care'.

In a statement, the police force said: "At this time the suspect does not appear to be known to the victim or to the victim's family".

It has been reported that Landen Hoffmann from Woodbury, Minnesota, was tossed to the marble ground beneath the balcony on Friday (12 April) as his mum screamed: "Oh my God, my baby - someone threw him over the edge". "The family and this child are in our thoughts and prayers, and I know the family appreciates all the thoughts and prayers that they can get from the public.as they hope for a full recovery of their child".

"Our immediate and only concern is for the well-being of the family and the child, as well as for any individuals who may have witnessed the incident".

The suspect has a history of misdemeanor convictions, including some cases handled through a mental health court. "Bloomington Police is investigating the incident", it said. Two misdemeanors stemmed from incidents at the mall in 2015.

Aranda also was accused of walking into a mall store and sweeping his hand across a display table, breaking glasses. As part of his probation for the assault in the restaurant, he was barred from visiting the Mall of America until December 29, 2017.
