Trump celebrates Tiger Woods' success at 'LIFE' with Presidential Medal of Freedom

That's next on the list for Tiger Woods. Mr. Trump, an avid golf enthusiast, wrote in a tweet. Trump has promised a lot on Twitter, so it remains to be seen if Tiger will actually receive the Medal, but as of now it's been a pretty great week for the golf icon. George H.W. Bush presented the medals to Nicklaus and Palmer; Barack Obama to Sifford.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is among the highest awards given to civilians in the United States.

Other sportspeople to be receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom include tennis icons Arthur Ashe and Billie Jean King.

Tiger Woods Wins The Masters, Captures First Major Since 2008
After 11 years, Woods found himself atop the leaderboard in a major, winning the 2019 Masters in Augusta, one stroke. He scooped up 10-year-old Charlie , born a year after Woods won his 14th major at Torrey Pines in the 2008 U.S Open.

The president later shared a photo of the group on social media, and a Trump Organisation official noted that Woods and Nicklaus have designed courses for the company. Three of them - Pro Football Hall of Famers Roger Staubach and Alan Page as well as Major League Baseball legend Babe Ruth - are most famous for their athletic achievements.

Trump's assessment then of Woods' game was spot-on, with the president predicting that Woods would "be winning majors again". It's inspirational to people all around the world, and Tiger fans everywhere celebrated as he donned the green jacket.

Woods ended a decade-long wait for a major victory as he finished on 13 under par at Augusta to claim his fifth Masters gong - having also won the famous tournament in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005.
