Illinois starts work on $486m roads and bridges drive

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has announced $486 million of road and bridge projects that will be started this spring – one of the largest early-season construction programmes in the US state’s history.

The announcement was described by the governor’s office as part of his agenda to create jobs and drive the Illinois’ economy forward by investing in transportation systems.
