Labour question marks over HS2

A future UK Labour government could scrap the £50billion HS2 high-speed rail infrastructure programme over concerns about rising costs.

Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls told the party’s annual conference in Brighton that supporting the project without reservation would be “irresponsible” and that there would be “no blank cheque” from Labour.
