UK energy and transport infrastructure to get share of £100billion

Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander has unveiled plans for the £100billion modernisation of the UK’s infrastructure that includes new homes, improved flood protection and a road building programme he said was the largest for four decades.

There will be new support to help the construction of new nuclear plants, including Hinkley Point in Somerset, and the package is also aimed at boosting new sources of energy.
